It's about more than just your spine.

When many people hear ‘chiropractor’ they tend to think we only treat back pain, but that is far from the truth.

Chiropractors are trained to treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions as well as aid in mental health conditions. The list of conditions below are just a few of the many conditions we are well equipped to treat. Don’t see your specific condition listed? Give us a call and let’s see if we can help!

Neck Pain

Neck pain is the one of the most common reasons people seek chiropractic care. Posture is a major key to address when it comes to neck pain. Computer work, texting, sleeping on your stomach, and muscle imbalances all contribute to aggravated symptoms.

Restoring proper motion and strengthening the muscles surrounding the neck often alleviates the pain.

While there are many different types and causes of headaches, the solution can often be simple. Increased muscle tension from poor posture, dehydration, and stress from everyday life are typically the most common pain generators.

Adjustments, soft tissue work, and addressing the muscle imbalances are all useful to obtain a headache-free life.

Back Pain

Back pain is the most common reason seek chiropractic care. Most back pain occurs due to everyday wear and tear that is exacerbated by poor biomechanics and poor posture. The joints in the back can become fixated, thus not allowing for proper motion of the spine. This can cause back pain, sciatica, soreness, and overall discomfort, to name a few.

Mobility and Stability

Depending on which sport you participate in, certain areas of the body need to function differently than others. Certain body regions need to be more stable to support the movement, while other regions need to be mobile and flexible enough to perform an action. If you’re lacking stability, injuries are more likely to occur. If you’re lacking mobility, your body over compensates to complete an action, which also increases the likelihood of an injury. Chiropractic is beneficial to re-establish ideal movement patterns to increase performance and decrease chance of injury.

Injury Prevention

By ensuring the body is moving correctly, efficiently, and pain free, the athlete will be able to perform at a higher level while avoiding injury. Chiropractic focuses on structure guiding function, if the structure is solid and healthy, the body can function optimally and injury free.

Women's Health

Dr. Runyan is certified in Webster Technique which is designed specifically for pregnant women. This technique focuses on the mother’s pelvic alignment to relax tight ligaments and muscles. This ensures that as the belly grows, the body can adapt and allow room for baby while maintaining proper structure and stability.  In fact, many women who receive regular chiropractic care during pregnancy experience a shorter labor time, decreased pain while  in labor, and a faster recovery time.

Menstrual Pain

The nerves that supply the reproductive organs are located in the low back. If the spine is not moving optimally, it is not uncommon for women to experience painful cramping during their menstrual cycle. Adjustments help to restore movement and alleviate pressure to decrease pain.
