The 'why' behind Function Co.
IT'S ABOUT MORE THAN JUST YOUR PAIN & SYMPTOMS
In June 2021, after weeks of racking my brain regarding what I should name my newly rebranded practice, something kept coming to mind. The name should not solely represent how you're feeling, but rather how the body is functioning as a whole. This philosophy is what is known as the ‘mind-body connection.’
Put very simply, the mind-body connection means how you think can affect how you feel, and how you feel can affect how you think. For example, if you’re under constant stress, you will most likely experience more muscle tension, pain, digestion complaints, or headaches. And vice versa, if you constantly experience physical pain, there is a high chance you’ll experience more stress, anxiety, and depression.
While pain is important to note, it is never the only thing to address. Better results and quicker healing times come from taking into consideration your: movement patterns, stress, posture, anxiety, fitness routine, diet, and activities of daily life.
Since everything in the body is connected and works together, the goal at Function Co. is to help you move, think, and feel better by treating you as a whole.
